Since our completion of 100,000 web pages back in April, June has seen another momentous milestone for the project – the start of ‘Engineering’.
In between indexing The Engineer, we’re now turning our attention to the Engineering Bound Volumes, uploading them in pdf format, just as we’ve done for The Engineer– and they’re already looking good. With the generous co-operation of Bristol Reference Library, the team is currently photographing the earlier journals starting from 1866 (ten years later than the first ‘Engineer’ journal).
From what we’ve photographed already, it’s fascinating to see such similarities to The Engineer, and we can be assured that if we continue to uncover beautiful engravings and detailed double page spreads from between the modestly bound covers, ‘Engineering’ is shaping up to be just as rewarding.
Keep checking back on the site to watch our progress!
