Alfred Charles Burgoine (1880-1943)

Alfred Charles Buigoine was born in 1880.

He served his apprenticeship with the firm of Alfred Burgoine, Ltd., and remained with them until 1909, designing and building marine machinery, marine I.C. engines, etc.

He then became Works Manager to the Orleans Motor Co.

Following his war service in the Royal Air Force he specialized in magnetos and general aero-engine equipment and eventually became General Manager of the Rodney Works of the Bristol Aeroplane Company.

He died in June, 1943, at the age of 63.

He was elected a Member in 1920 and served on the Committee of the Western Centre for many years. He was Chairman of the Centre and Member of Council from 1934 to 1938.
