Professor A. W. Scott

1954 Bio Note [1]

Professor Scott graduated B.Sc., in Mechanical Engineering of Glasgow University in 1924 and, on completion of his engineering apprenticeship, joined the staff of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Royal Technical College, Glasgow. He received the degree of Ph.D. in 1930 for researches on heat transfer and was later appointed as Senior Lecturer in Applied Mechanics. In 1941 he was seconded for Government service, and in 1947 was appointed to his present post of Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Royal Technical College, Glasgow.
