1876 Dissolution of the Partnership between Alexander Charles Baddeley Moffatt, John Sanders Stevens, and George Hawkins, under the style or firm of Archibald Smith and Company, in the trade or business of Manufacturing Engineers, at No. 69, Princes-street, Leicester-square, Middlesex, and at Halstead, Essex. All debts due to or owing by the said firm will be received and paid by the John Sanders Stevens and George Hawkins, who will henceforth carry on the business under the style or firm of Archibald Smith and Company.
By 1878 Messrs. Archibald Smith and Co., hydraulic and general engineers, were in Leicester Square, London.
1880 A new factory was built at Battersea to meet the expansion of the business, and the firm's name was altered to Archibald Smith and Stevens.
