1932 Obituary 
ARTHUR WHITE SISSON had been a director of Messrs. William Sisson and Company of Gloucester since its formation in 1904 into a limited liability company, and had also carried out the duties of secretary of the firm.
Mr. Sisson was born at Gateshead in 1861 and received a commercial training in the offices of the North British and Mercantile Insurance Company at Newcastle upon Tyne. Desiring, however, to become a mechanical engineer, he commenced in 1881 a three years' apprenticeship, at the invitation of his elder brother, Mr. William Sisson, M.I.Mech.E., who at that time was manager of Messrs. Cox and Company's Iron Works at Falmouth.
In 1884 he joined Messrs. Ruston, Proctor and Company of Lincoln as draughtsman, meanwhile continuing his studies at the Lincoln Technical School, where he gained a Whitworth Scholarship in 1887.
In the following year he was appointed head draughtsman forMessrs. J. and E. Hall of Dartford, but a few months later he joined his brother in taking over the Quay Street Iron Works, Gloucester.
He had been a Member of the Institution since 1910.
His death occurred on 21st July 1932.
