of Gainsborough, maker of crawler tractors

1975 British Leyland acquired the Marshall-Fowler tractor factory at Gainsborough; the factory would be used to expand the Aveling-Barford business making earth moving and road construction equipment[1]. Presumably it was at this time that Aveling Marshall was formed as a subsidiary of Aveling Barford Holdings.

1979 Crawler tractor interests were sold to a local farmer, Charles Nickerson[2]. Company closed
