1991 Formation of company as a joint venture between British Aerospace (BAe) and SEMA[1]. SEMA contributed its subsidiary YARD Ltd, the Scientific Division of SEMA Group Ltd and 50 percent of the shares in Dowty-SEMA, as well as staff, to the JV. BAe contributed cash and staff[2]
1999 British Aerospace bought the shares it did not already own; the name of the company was changed to British Aerospace Land and Sea Systems.
