1986 Sheffield Brick Group acquired Benson Heating Ltd; changed name to Benson SBG plc[1]

1987 Acquired County Tractors[2]

1987 Name changed to Benson Group

1990 Start of rationalisation and reorganisation

1991 Sold the assets and IPR of Bamfords International, forage box business, to Foster Sales, as part of a move to exit agricultural machinery and concentrate on engineering[3] (but why was that still a subsidiary in 1994?)

1992 Acquired Thama Holdings, manufacturer of pressed metal components, and Pakaway Perrymatics, boiler maker[4]

1993 Sold Wolverhampton Pressings Ltd

1994 Acquired Diffusion Environmental Systems Ltd
