1967 Merger of Birmid Industries and Qualcast to form Birmid Qualcast[1].
1969 Reorganistion of Birmid Qualcast Ltd into 3 divisions:
- Birmid Qualcast (Foundries) Ltd,
- Birmid Qualcast (Home and Garden Equipment) Ltd,
- Birmid Qualcast (Wrought and Engineering Products) Ltd[2].
1971 Acquired C. and B. Smith which became part of the foundries division[3]
1973 Acquired Potterton central heating operation from De La Rue[4]
1987 Acquired Gardex and Foldor shower trays. Acquired the New World division of Tube Investments[5]
1988 The Birmid Qualcast group was acquired by Blue Circle[6].
1990 The foundry division (5 foundry businesses) were sold to Thyssen Industrie[7]
