1947 British Telecommunications Research Ltd had been formed by Automatic Telephone and Electric Co and British Insulated Callender's Cables Ltd in order to have a British company covering all aspects of the telecommunications field[2]

1961 Automatic Telephone and Electric became part of the Plessey Co

by 1967 was part of the Plessey Co[3]

1969 Advertised for staff at Taplow Court[4]
