The company initially built at Leyland's works at Kingston-on-Thames.
1948 The Kingston factory was closed and B.U.T. work was moved to AEC at Southall and to Leyland's plant at Leyland. A few vehicles were made at the Crossley Motors plant near Stockport and at Scammell at Watford.
1961 Order from British Transport Commission for 20 sets of diesel transmission equipment and control equipment for Western Region multiple units
