Burnet Adams ( -1915)
1916 Obituary 
BURNET ADAMS, Surveyor-General and Chief Inspector of Mines, Orange River Colony, died at Bloemfontein on the 12th October, 1915.
He gained his early experience in New South Wales, the United States and Manila, on railway-construction, surveys, sewerage and mining work.
In 1895 he went to South Africa, and carried out several railway works, acting during the war as Engineer under Colonel Vyvyan in the defence of Mafeking, before receiving his appointment as Surveyor-General.
In 1902 he was also appointed a member of the Legislative Council of the Colony.
Mr. Adams was elected an Associate Member on the 1st May, 1894, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 9th April, 1907.
