Cyril Terence 'Tom' Delaney (1911-2006) of Delaney Gallay

1911 Born at Willesden the son of Terry Delaney.

Educated at Bishop's Stortford College

Educated at Terrys, Northwood; Bishops Stortford College; Northampton Institute.

Worked with Lea & Francis; Delaunay Belleville; assisted preparation of Lea Francis teams for Tourist Trophy and Grand Prix, etc.; drove in Grand Prix and won various events at Brooklands.

1934 Dir. L. T. Delaney and Sons, successors to Delaunay Belleville Motors, Ltd., and Chausson Gallay, Ltd.

Raced and won in a Lea-Francis at Brooklands

1933 Patent on "Improvements in or relating to the supercharging of internal combustion engines", the first of more than 50 British patents; there were also many foreign versions of his patents.

1935 Patent on " A new or improved tube particularly for use in the radiators of internal-combustion engines" with Chausson Gallay of Scrubs Lane, London

1935 Patent on "A new or improved cooler for oil and other liquids" with James Frank Belaieff and Gallay Ltd of Scrubs Lane.

1938 Patent on "Improvements in or relating to valves for steam or pressure vessels" with William Frederick Forrest Martin-Hurst and British Thermostat Co.

1959 Patent on "Improvements in or relating to cooking devices " with Delaney Electronics Ltd

1961 Patent on "Improvements in or relating to devices for providing heated air in vehicles "

1963 Sold the business but retained the factory in Willesden which he converted into small factory units.[1]
