Note: Although categorised as a 'town' for the purposes of Grace's Guide, Trafford Park is actually a large industrial estate constituting part of the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, in Greater Manchester.

Until the end of the 19thC Trafford Park was a deer park owned by the de Trafford family, located immediately to the west of the city of Manchester and immediately south of the city of Salford. In the late 19th century it was developed as an industrial estate, probably the first example in the world of a large area developed specifically for industrial use by a variety of users.
