1948 'Claimed to be the first of its kind in Sussex, a new industry is being developed at the factory of the Crawley Aircraft and Precision Tool Company Ltd., where part of the 90,000 square feet of floor space is now utilised for the manufacture of porcelain products, such as insulators and parts for electric switches and cookers. Plans have been made for the expansion of the industry. which is at the moment producing articles mainly for export.'
