1855 James Smith of Smith and Wellstood contracted George Ure, managing partner of Crosthwaite, Ure and Co of Camelon, to produce stoves.

1860 Dissolution of the Partnership between Robert Wilson Crosthwaite and George Ure, of the Union Foundry, near Lock No. 16, on the Forth and Clyde Canal, carrying on business as Manufacturers of Cast Iron Goods, &c., under the Firm of CROSTHWAITE, URE, & CO. The Business in future carried on by Robert Wilson Crosthwaite on his own account[1]
