Croydon Power Station

1951.

1896 Station built by Croydon Corporation near Croydon Gas Works.

c.1897 Charles Merz was appointed manager and engineer to operate the plant which BTH had supplied at Croydon. So successful was he in this task that he was given charge of a similar and larger contract at Cork, which also included tramways.

1924 Generating equipment replaced giving the station a capacity of 50 MW.

1973 Station closed
