Edward Townsend Hippisley ( -1954) of BTH

We have learned with regret of the death of Mr. Edward Townsend Hippisley, M.I.E.E., which occurred at 60, Lillington Road, Leamington Spa, on December 9th. Since 1936, he had been the manager of the traction department (sales and engineering) of the British Thomson-Houston Company, Ltd.

Mr. Hippisley joined the company in 1920, when he started a three-year post-graduate apprenticeship. He entered the traction department in 1923 and from 1929 was responsible for heavy traction contracts involving electric and diesel-electric locomotives.
