1830 The Equitable Gas Light Company was formed
Built Gas works at Pimlico, on the Chelsea embankment. They produced and distributed both coal (sic) and cannel gas. The company supplied Belgravia and areas of the Strand, Fleet Street and Blackfriars.
1830 The company advertised for tenders for the supply of cast iron pipe, etc.
1842 Company incorporated.
1862 Gasworks in Pimlico
c.1865 The company tried to extend its works at Westminster but was rejected by Parliament
