1947 Obituary 
"ERIC PRICE, who died in captivity in the Malay States, was elected a Graduate of the Institution in 1935 and was transferred to Associate Membership in 1940. He was born in 1913 and served his apprenticeship with Messrs. Vickers-Armstrongs, Ltd., from 1929 to 1934, and concurrently attended the Technical College at Barrow-in-Furness. On the completion of his apprenticeship he continued in the service of the firm as a draughtsman for a further two years. The remainder of his brief career was spent in the Malay States where he was first employed as assistant engineer to Messrs. Osborne and Chappell, mining engineers, of Ipoh. Mr. Price's final appointment, which he held from 1938, was that of inspector of machinery in the Mines Department."
