1882 Born in Coventry[1]

1891 Living at Embersley Road, Kings Norton: Charles R. Garrard (age 35 born London), Foreman - Cycle Factory. With his wife Ellen F. (age 31 born Buckinghamshire) and their children May (age 11 born Uxbridge), Ellen (age 10 born Uxbridge), Charles (age 9 born London), and Ernest (age 8 born Coventry).[2]

1901 Foreman, cycle engineer, lived with his parents in Birmingham[3]

1902 September. Ernest Garrard, age 30 (sic), died in a motorcycle accident on the Bristol Road, Birmingham. The bike was 1.5 h.p. and he had been riding for twelve months.[4]

1902 Died in Birmingham[5]
