Fales and Jenks
Fales & Jenks, also Fales, Jenks and Co, of Rhode Island, USA
Founded in 1830 in Central Falls, Rhode Island. In 1833 they bought the rights to produce the "Hubbard Patented Rotary Pump". Cotton spinning machines became an important product. In 1866 they moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Ten years later the company became The Fales & Jenks Machine Company. Products included cotton mill machinery, water meters, water wheels, and fire hydrants.
The production of the pumps invented by Asahel Hubbard was described in some detail in the American Machinist in 1923. Fales & Jenks produced some remarkable machine tools for machining the gear-type rotors.
