Freightliners Ltd. of Cardington Street, London (a British Rail service)
1965 The new service was inaugurated between Glasgow and London. The concept was of containerisation, where the customer would supervise the loading of their merchandise into a container.
1966 c.1,100 containers were being carried per week; services also included Manchester, Liverpool, Aberdeen
1974 16,000 container loads were being moved nightly by Freightliner trains.
