He began his career in the service of Ferdinand Arnodin, a manufacturer of suspension bridges and bridge ferries in Châteauneuf-sur-Loire
He was responsible for construction of many bridges.
Subsequently, he was in charge of the study of the construction possibilities of a bridge in Khartoum on the Blue Nile and the installation of a lift rocker bridge at Port Sudan.
1909 He was engineer of the railway bridge Gor-Abu-Guma on the White Nile in Sudan, the rail bridge reconstructions at Atbara in Sudan (1910) and a bridge in Cairo.
1909 He was consulting engineer for the construction of the Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough
1910/11 Visited USA and Canada
During and after the First World War , he took part in reconstruction of numerous bridges for the Northern Railway.
Subsequently, he joined Dorman, Long and Co, who wanted to study and present a bridge project in Sydney; they subsequently won the contract for the Sydney Harbour Bridge (1923). He was responsible for this bridge as consulting engineer in collaboration with Ralph Freeman.
1924 He was also responsible for building a bridge over the Blue Nile to Omdurman
1925 He was engineer for the bridge across the Tyne in Newcastle upon Tyne.
1932 Appointed general manager of Ets. B. Baudin et Cie.
1951 He died in Châteauneuf-sur-Loire
