Manufacturers of specialist and bespoke hand tools for the stonemasonery and construction industry.
of Barrowby Lane, Garforth.(2021)
1985 Trevor and Gail Timmins formed a company called G. Gibson and Co. The main product of this company was scutch combs and hammer wedges. All the production work was outsourced, and the office work was done at their home.
1988 They leased their first premises, so that manufacturing could be undertaken in house, along with packaging, but offices were still at their home.
The machines that produced Scutch Combs and Hammer Wedges then are still the same machines used today. Over several years, the product range has expanded, as did the space requirements for more machinery to produce the Ring Wedges. Machinery was then bought that meant manufacture and maintenance of our tooling was possible in house.
1997 to secure the future of the company, the company bought their own premises.
1999 Acquired I. and D. Smallwood
2002 Bought J. G. Faulds of Glasgow. Faulds specialize in Carbide Tipped Masonry Tools and associated products for the Stone Masoning Trade.
2003/2004 Acquired Visa Hand Tools of Bristol, opening up further markets in forestry and fencing.
2009 Purchased the specialist hammer section of Footprint Tools Ltd, Sheffield.
