1935 Obituary 
GEORGE H. SANKEY, J.P., died at his residence, Astley Abbots, Bridgnorth, on December 19, 1934, at the age of sixty-seven.
He was the second son of the late Mr. Joseph Sankey, the founder of the firm of Joseph Sankey and Sons, Ltd., of Bilston and Hadley (Shropshire) - now a branch of Guest, Keen and Nettle- folds, Ltd. - of which he became the managing director; be was connected with the Albert Street Works, Bilston, for about fifty years.
He was High Sheriff of Staffordshire, and had served on the committee for the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire district of the Royal Metal Trades Pension and Benevolent Society.
He had been a member of the Iron and Steel Institute since 1903.
