George Townsend Brooke (1878-1915)

GEORGE TOWNSHEND BROOKE, born at Haughton Hall, Shifnal, on the 9th May, 1878, was killed in action in France on the 6th May, 1915.

On leaving Coopers Hill in 1899, he joined the Irrigation Service of the Egyptian Public Works Department. He was employed on the Zifta barrage and other works, and in 1912 was promoted Inspector of the Third Circle at Alexandria.

Returning home on sick leave in 1913, he was in England on the outbreak of war.

Mr. Brooke was elected an Associate Member on the 3rd December, 1907.
