Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College

From Graces Guide

1886 The College was formed by the merger of several older institutions including Anderson's College and the College of Science and Arts, which had started life as the Glasgow Mechanics Institute, and the Atkinson Institution.

1903 Moved into new building

1912 Renamed the Royal Technical College.

1913 Affiliated to the University of Glasgow

1964 Became part of the Strathclyde University on its formation.
