1964 Name changed to the present and converted into a public company

1964 Public issue of shares; the main subsidiary was Ormerod of Birmingham and Co[2]

1964 Acquired Bellhouse Hartwell[3]

1965 Acquired E. R. Lattimer[4]

1966 Acquired Nortons-Tividale South Africa (Proprietary) Ltd[5]

By 1968 Other subsidiaries included:

1968 Acquired Amalgamated Cleaning Services Ltd ( A. C. S. Ltd) and Rolcon Engineering Ltd of Skelmersdale as the start of a move away from the company's machine tool background.
