Handley Page Transport
1919 Company formed by the Handley Page company which modified a number of O/400 aircraft for passenger use to be flown on the London-Paris route as Handley Page Transport.
1920 2 September: Handley Page Transport Ltd started flights from London Cricklewood to Paris Le Bourget with Handley Page converted twin-engined bombers. The pilot of the first service was Lt-Col W Sholto Douglas.
1921 19 March: After a temporary halt to all British airlines, a subsidy was provided by the British government which enabled British air services to restart. Handley Page Transport operated the first subsidised London to Paris service.
1923 23 June: Handley Page Transport Ltd carried 79 passengers in one day.
1924 March: Imperial Airways Limited was formed from:
- British Marine Air Navigation Co
- Daimler Airway
- Handley Page Transport, which had three aircraft
- Instone Air Line
