1887 '...Mr. Henry Hicks, 53, New Kent-road...The musical establishment of Mr. Hicks, in New Kent-road, is well known, owing, among other things, the central position it occupies; and his large trade commands no doubt owing the fact that he is an old-established tradesman, and that gained his experience with the well-known firm of Messrs. J. B. Cramer and Co., with whom spent 25 years....'[2]
