  • 1935 'MILL ENGINE'S LONG VOYAGE. The horizontal steam engine which formerly supplied the power for the machinery at Hill Top Mill, Burnley, has been sold by James Dixon, Ltd., and is to be sent to Burma. This is not however, another case of British machinery being used in competition against the Lancashire cotton industry, for on arrival in Burma it will installed in a rice mill. The engine, which weighs 70 tons and is almost new, is now being dismantled and packed in cases ready for shipment.'[1]
