A half mile canal across the north of the Isle of Dogs, now part of the West India Docks. Also known as the City Canal

1800-5[1] Built by William Jessop for the City of London Corporation

1829 acquired by the West India Dock Co.

1860s The South West India Dock, later known as South Dock, was constructed, replacing the unprofitable City Canal.
