Albion Works, Salford.
1839 John Bailey went into business for himself at Albion Works, Oldfield Road. When Bailey established his own business, his products included turret clocks designed by Richard Roberts.[1]
c.1854 Made turret clock for the Custom House at Payta (Paita), Peru, installed in the iron building constructed by E. T. Bellhouse and Co. Bailey's address was given as 60 Regent Road, Salford[2]
1863 John Bailey and Co, turret clock makers, brassfounders, steam and water gauge makers, copying press makers, of Albion Clock and Brass Works, 9 Essex St, Oldfield Road, Salford and Goree Piazza, Liverpool[3].
1865 John's son William inherited his father's business at Albion Works after John retired. Business now manufacturing steam pumps, ram pumps, regulating valves, pyrometers, barometers, fire engines, tide recorders, gas jet motors, lubricators & turnstiles.[4]
