1865 Joseph Parkinson set up in business in Bradford

1867 Company established.

1892 Joseph's son became a partner; the company became J. Parkinson and Son.

1893 Moved to Shipley

1894 presumably of 18 Chester st, Bradford

Acquired the Prince of Wales Foundry - renamed it the Canal Ironworks

c.1896 Moved to Canal Iron Works, Shipley (see advert)

1912 October. Technical article on 'Testing Spur and Bevel Gearing' in Internal Combustion Engineering

1913 Advert for Vises (Parkinson's spelling) and Vise stands. [3]

1920 September. Exhibited at the Machine Tool and Engineering Exhibition at Olympia with machine tools including universal milling machines and four gear planers. [5]

1954 The company was acquired by Crofts (Engineers) Holdings Ltd.
