1808 Sale notice: 'TO BE SOLD by PRIVATE CONTRACT, - A Neat DWELLING-HOUSE, with a Smith’s Shop adjoining, situate at Old Sodbury, in the county of Glocester, late in the possession of, and part of the Estate of Jacob Raggatt, deceased.
The Shop is in full work, and is very completely fitted up with Four Forges, a very capital Lathe tor turning heavy metal, and other Implements requisite for carrying an extensive trade. There is good Garden, and Orchard attached; and the whole is held on two Lives, one of which is about 30 years of age.
Also, a CARPENTER's SHOP, and several FREEHOLD COTTAGES for Sale.
Apply to Francis Holbrow, or John Parker, of Old Sodbury: or to Wm. Gayner, of Filton ; to whom all persons having any claim on the estate of said Jacob Raggatt, are requested to apply ; and to whom those who are indebted are desired to pay the same ; or Elizabeth Raggatt, widow, on the Premises, who will shew the same.
This will not he advertised again.'[1]
