1774 Company established.

1891 Directory (Leigh): Listed as Cotton spinner and manufacturers. [1]

1891 Burton's mills had 157,196 spindles and 570 looms.

1919 Acquired by a consortium lead by Alexander Young of the Northern Coates Spinning Co, Wigan, and W. H. Heywood of Huddersfield.[2]

1926 The mills were stripped of machinery and demolished.[3]
