1916 Obituary 
JOHN CHARLES GILL, born on the 7th July, 1852, at Ilkley, Yorkshire, died at Peterborough on the 29th July, 1915.
After gaining experience under the late Mr. John McLandsborough, M. Inst. C.E., he carried out, as Resident Engineer, waterworks at Burley, and sewerage works and a pumping-station at Peterborough.
In 1884 he was appointed Waterworks Engineer for Peterborough, the superintendence of the Fire Brigade being added to his duties in the following year.
In 1898 he was also appointed City Electrical Engineer. He carried out a generating station, an auxiliary water-supply scheme, and other works.
Mr. Gill was elected an Associate Member on the 5th February, 1878.
