John Fox Bell (c1845-1875) of the Great Indian Peninsula Railway
1875 Died. 'A private telegram announces the death of Mr. John Fox Bell, eldest son of the late well-known Secretary and Director of the Midland Railway Company, formerly of Derby. The deceased gentleman was on his way home from India (having been out about eight years as engineer to one of principal Indian railways), and died on the passage. He was about 30 years of age.' 'Dec. 22, on his passage home, John Fox Bell, civil engineer, Great Indian Peninsula Railway, India, eldest son of the late John Fox Bell, of Derby, and afterwards of The Highwood, Uttoxeter.'
