1881 Living at Cromwell St, Coventry: John Riley (age 48 born Allesley, Warks.), a Watch Maker. With his wife Mary Riley (age 30 born Haselor, Warks.) and their daughter Margaret Riley (age 15 born Allesley, Warks.)[2]

1891 Living at 50 Primrose Hill Street, Coventry: John Ryley (age 58 born Allesley, Warks.), a Book Keeper. With his wife Mary Ryley (age 60 born Warwick).[3]

1901 Living at 50 Primrose Hill Street, Coventry: John Riley (age 68 born Allesley, Warks.), a Coal and Beer Traveller on Own Account. With his wife Mary Riley (age 70 born Haselor, Warks.).[4]

1901 John Ryley of Primrose Hill Street, Coventry, the father of the Ryley of Ryley, Ward and Bradford‎ died aged 68.[5]
