1939 The company was registered to carry on the business of leather merchants, electrical goods manufacturers and textile dealers.

1947 Listed Exhibitor - British Industries Fair. Manufacturers of Cork Wedge Heels, Cork Heels, Platform Soles in Cork and Rubber and Cork Composition. 1960s Its interests included a wide range of car accessories, and the company manufactured heaters for cars, buses, coaches and other commercial vehicles, both of fresh-air and re-circulatory types. Motors were bought from AC-Delco.

Key-Leather supplied, under its own brand name, ammeters and water temperature and oil pressure gauges (class (vi)) obtained from AC-Delco.

For a time, Key-Leather imported oil combustion heaters and "motorised ventilators" for buses from Germany and France respectively.

1961 Those imports were discontinued and the company manufactured motorised ventilators. Key-Leather supplied some heaters to a heavy vehicle maker for initial equipment but most of its sales were to distributors and garages.
