1898 William Barbour and Sons merged with other thread manufacturers, Robert Stewart and Sons, F. W. Hayes and Co and Dunbar, McMaster and Co to create Linen Thread Co[1]
1898 The company was registered on 29 April, to acquire interests in and to carry on the businesses of manufacturers of linen and other threads, nets, twines and flax. [2]
1959 Acquired Delaney Gallay Ltd[3], maker of car heaters.
1960 Acquired Elliot Equipment Ltd, maker of life saving equipment; leased a factory at Barking for Delaney Gallay's expansion.[4]
1961 The company changed its name to Lindustries[5].
1970 Lindustries reported on performance of Barbour Threads, presumably reflecting an internal change of name[6]
