Lionel J. Langridge (c1860-1906)
1906 Obituary
LIONEL J. LANGRIDGE died on March 15, 1906, in his 47th year.
He was educated at Clifton College, and began his training in Electrical Engineering under Mr. W. Slingo, at the old People's Palace Laboratory.
Many years of private research work followed, and his keen studies with regard to the fire risks of electricity enabled him, as Electrical Inspector to the Royal Insurance Company, whose London office he entered in 1894, to adopt a policy of avoiding unnecessary rules and restrictions.
Mr. Langridge was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1895, and was transferred to the class of Associate Members in 1899. He was also a member of the executive of the British Fire Prevention Committee.
