London Country Bus Services
1970 London Country Bus Services, which were formed by the Transport Holding Co "to receive in due course the property, rights and liabilities comprised in the London Transport Country (green) bus and (Green Line) coach Services"[1], were transferred to the National Bus Co.
1986 In preparation for privatisation, the London Country activities were split between 4 new companies:
- London Country (North-West)
- London Country (North-East)
- London Country (South-East)
- London Country (South-West)
1988 London Country Bus (South West) was sold to Drawlane. London Country South West operated 410 buses, coaches and minibuses from Reigate and eight other garages. Its operation include local bus routes throughout Surrey, parts of West Sussex and London, where it provided services under contract to London Regional Transport.[2]
1989 Established new subsidiary Speedlink Airport Services Ltd to hold the airport bus services.
