1911 Obituary 
LORENS BEIJER died on December 22, 1910. He was born on the 3rd of September 1839, and after finishing his education he took to the sea for a profession.
In 1866 he founded, with his elder brother Gottfried, the firm of G. & L. Beijer, of which he became chairman in 1908, the business then becoming a limited company.
He graduated as a captain at Malmo at the Royal School of Navigation, from which he, at the end of 1909, retired after having been a member of the Board for thirty-five years, twenty-eight of which he served as chairman. He was a Knight of the Orders of the North Star and Wasa.
He was a life member of the Iron and Steel Institute, being elected in 1898.
