1982 Company incorporated to act as holding company for amalgamation of several companies in the magnetic materials industry:[1]

1985 Public issue of shares. There were 2 operating divisions in the group:

  • Neosid division, making "soft" ferrites
  • Swift Levick division making cast and sintered alloy permanent magnets and "hard ferrites"; it had a subsidiary Swift Levick Supermagloy which made rare-earth permanent magnets.
