1928 Death in Nice of Ernest Hammond, of Metropolitan Leather Works, Bermondsey.
1930 Metropolitan Leather Co Ltd was formed by Parkinson Cowan to take over the leather activities of Parkinson and Cowan (Gas Meters) Ltd, a department that had been established 40 years previously by W. and B. Cowan. A more general leather business would be developed at the company's Bermondsey tannery.
WWII Part of the premises destroyed by enemy action; business moved elsewhere.
1951 "Multitest" meter diaphragms being sold throughout the world.
