1862 March. Joseph Wright and Sons registered as a Limited Company as the Metropolitan Railway Carriage and Wagon Co with a nominal capital of £100,000

1864 Share capital increased to £200,000

1869 Advert. Manufacturers of railway carriages, wagons and railway ironwork of every description. The company is the successor to Joseph Wright and Sons. [1]

1896/7 Directory: Listed for Railway Equipment. [2]

1902 Incorporated in the Metropolitan Amalgamated Railway Carriage and Wagon Co.

1929 Eventually the successor company Metropolitan Carriage, Wagon and Finance Co was merged with the railway business of Cammell, Laird and Co to form Metropolitan Cammell Carriage, Wagon and Finance Co better known as Metro Cammell.
