National Welsh Omnibus Holdings
National Welsh was a subsidiary of the National Bus Co
1987 Privatised[1]
1988 Acquired Taff Ely Transport of Pontypridd. Proposed to buy the Inter Valley Link and Cynon Valley bus services from the local councils that owned them[2]
1992 National Welsh called in the receiver. Aberdare-based Cynon Valley Transport bought National Welsh's Aberdare and Merthyr depots with 50 buses, making 65 drivers redundant. Byfleet-based coach operator Tellings Golden Miller has bought the Porth site and 75 buses, which it will run as Rhondda Buses. The receiver planned to sell the three remaining sites at Bridgend, Barry and Caerphilly, which run a total of 150 vehicles.[3]
