1865 Horizontal single cylinder steam engine at Thompson & Co's Ashgrove Works (flax mill) in Blairgowrie. The engine assisted a waterwheel, driving through double helical gearing. Photographed by George Watkins in 1966, who recorded the maker as 'Pierce Bros.'
1879 The sale of the Scouringburn Works and Mill of William Chalmers and Son included a pair of horizontal high pressure engines by Pearce Bros.
1886 Ceased trading. The Craigie yard became the West Caledon Yard of W. B. Thompson and Co.
